Um. I'd leave a better comment, but I just ... Um. I've sort of ... been there. Relatively recently. Not the disgust, but the strange exhaustion, and the intellectual knowledge that something should make you feel something, and it sort of does, but it's all too far aware and too much effort ... Yeah. I get how he feels. Really, really well. Heh.

Oh Nikola. Yes. This is what happened. So tired, so completely emotionally burned out that he just doesn't have anything left. He's a hundred years old and feels it, despite his young face.

Alan Turing was what started me writing this fic. I just couldn't leave it alone, the fact that was something the 'good' guys would do to someone who might have saved all of them. *shakes head* And from that I realized how damned tired he was, and how numb.

I wrote this as if it were the last straw to set him onto the path of trying to rule the world with vampires. His disappointment, or rather, his realization that he should be disappointed despite the fact that he can't quite muster the emotion, is absolutely crucial.
