So I stayed up most last night/this morning to finally crash around 7am. Woke up to my father calling to say my uncle Steve is back in the hospital because he had a glottal hernia. it's the part that basically connects your esophagus to your stomach. fluids spilled everywhere inside, had to do a surgery asap. Its a tragedy because people do not have enough faith and strength to get back on their own two feet. sympathy isn't something i give at all, but sometimes you have to look at it that way. as a tragedy. its going to be okay though.

I knew someone who drunk quite a bit, too. He's the single reason I never have. Not that it's some sympathy story, because he cleaned the hell up, and he's doing alright now.

Err, but sorry about your uncle. Or maybe I'm not, as it's hard to feel sympathetic for drinkers... smokers... chronic gamblers.

It is hard to sympathize. I mean, how many of them realize this is a life or death situation? "Oh it'll never happen to me" bullshit. And then your liver fails and if you don't "feel like" eating properly for the rest of your life if you even HAVE that option, you'll die. That's it. End of story. I haven't gotten to talk to him about it, but I think if he's going to brush it off like nothing happened I'm going to flip out.

But yeah, pretty much the same reason why I don't do any of that crap either. I'm not opposed to it... it's just, why bother? Drinking solo? Yeah, that's how I want to spend my night. Drinking to get wasted and puke all over my friends couch and carpet to be told to get out? I guess I could do that too. At least my friends will laugh. I mean, what else is there to do in life, right?
