I feel like shit ya know. Im leaving school in 9 months and i have no idea what i want to do afterwards. I dont think i want to go to universities but dont hold me to that. But i really really dont know what i want to do when im older ( Read more... )

I know the feeling, I thought I was the only one who had no idea what I wanted to do at the beginning of year 13. Basically, I'm just using uni as an excuse to delay deciding what I want to do and just went with the subject I seemed to be doing best in at the time.

Bollocks you're the only one. You're never the only one.
I was luck, knew I wanted to do art, so I did art at college, I didn't go to Uni because I didn't narrow down what 'art' I wanted to do. So I just left and looked for work. I do illustration on the side and am applying for Uni next year now I've had some time and decided a little more.
Don't think you have to choose anything yet, don't think you have to know anything about your future yet, don't think you're going to get left behind.
You don't and you won't.
Honestly, everyone acts like its SUCH A RUSH and to be honest, the ones who are able to kick back and look at the bigger picture are often the better off.
Just think about what you ENJOY, what do you enjoy? Cooking? English? Maths? Fashion? Care? Art? Drama? The list really is endless, so much is on offer, just think about what you enjoy the most and look up related courses, go with what would make you happy.
It's your life baby don't let anyone tell you different.

i know, but it's like you said, everyone makes it out to be such a rush. Mr Roberts at school isn't any better. We have to apply for uni even if we dont want to go, we can take a year out though. So I think thats what im gunna do, and then in that year decide if i wanna go uni or not. as for the future, i just know that i dont want to be stuck in a boring office all day every day for the rest of my life. I would like to do something creative, but i kinda lack the creativity aspect. lol.
