I am sorry this is slightly weird, considering I have no idea who you are and randomly came across your journal in some fashion community--but I saw that you worked at Tim Horton's and nearly jumped out of my seat.

I live in the states, CT, and just started working there. I am completely miserable. COMPLETELY. It sounds like you were too. If you don't mind, I was wondering what your experience was like?

working there was terrible. i handed out literally 40 resumes in a week and the only job offer i got was from tim hortons, the last place i applied to. they gave me a lot of shifts, which i wanted, but it was minimum wage and just a terrible job. the only thing that cheered me up was making friends with some of my co-workers. i worked with an entirely female staff, and they were all married to men in the military, most of whom worked overseas.

my recommendation is cling to the nice regular customers and make friends with co-workers until a better paying job comes along. that's actually my advice in every terrible job. i only lasted at tim hortons for 3 and a half weeks. i needed money, sometimes you have to make sacrifices. good luck stranger!
