Well I saw the movie and got the same thing, so yeah, kudos. You forgot glorifying abusive behaviour! (He magically shows up everywhere, follows her to "protect her", gets very angry/jealous/belittling every time they talk, beats up the other vampire who is after her) SYMBOLISM
There is nothing about the written word that shouldn't be taken seriously. If it was a satire, it would be brilliant. But the fact is that it is not, and Stephenie Meyer is not poking fun at herself - she is attempting to write seriously and professionally. If it was supposed to make fun of itself, then it would probably be good, but it's completely straight faced, and I'm sorry, but I don't appreciate poor writing.
I was talking to my sister about this book the other day actually. She has just turned 16 and she looooooved it! She borrowed it from her friend and read the whole thing in only a week! (Normally a book would take her a month or more) When I told her I hadn't read it yet she says "Omggg Kylie you have to read it!! It's soooo romantic!!" lol.
Hi Kylie! Nice to meet you =D It's a pretty common name here in Australia (probably because of Kylie Minogue lol) but I've never met another Kylie outside of Australia!
