Not only did I manage to have a productive day despite the constant downpour of rain, I actually managed to start and finish (more or less) a digital painting in one day! This is a NEW RECORD for me. Seriously.

(And do I ever feel so much better.)

Так это не с парой-тройкой иллюстраций в таком стиле нужно идти, а с целым портфолио. А его еще дорабатывать надо.

Но в принципе да, конечно работать иллюстратором было бы идеально и как раз по профессии. Нынешняя работа тоже нравится, конечно, но она использует так сказать половину профессии..

(знаю, "excuses, excuses." Вот как-нибудь соберусь и действительно пойду. :) )

Oh I would LOVE to illustrate field guides or science books. I need to learn a lot more about the animals, though. So far I mainly paint the ones I've personally observed and photographed so I have my own references.

They are very ancient-looking and definitely remind me of dinosaurs.

Heheh, I enjoy painting creatures that watch the viewer. (I'm actually tempted to print this one out on canvas at my workplace to see how it comes out off-screen, but in a smallish size - not just due to space constraints, but also due to the that-cassowary-is-WATCHING-you factor! A real live cassowary is not something you want to bump into in the rainforest.)
