I love friends with benefits.

Apparently, I have a drummer.  Or, we have each other.  My only worry is that he is so much of an act-different-in-front-of-my-friends guy that he may just up and quit forever at any second.  Who knows.  Maybe he really has matured.  I dated him for awhile back in sixth grade.  He dumped me, but we never even talked to each other, so there wasn't ( Read more... )

I don't think I understand your journal...but I DO love D'arcy...

Had the pleasure to meet her and drink with her (such a lush) back in '93 or '94 I can't remember anymore but it was the year that the pumpkins played Lolapalooza.

She was in a dive bar in Tucson, AZ to watch her drummer husband play (was it Catheren or Catheren Wheel again my old man memory escapes me) as they were the closing act for Dig of which the bassist Jeff was a friend of mine. By the end of the night we were exchanging emails and giving her directions to the aero port so she could catch a flight to Phoenix to play the next days Lolapalooza.

Stubling on to your LJ accidentally just brought back that memory.

Muah!

Woah. It sounds like that was a good memory! I don't mean to pry, but what was she like? I've heard of some people who met her and said she was beyond belief. What do you think of her?

Yeah, my journal is kind of insane... Looking back, I'm saying "What the..." through half of it.

She was a right laugh...tons of fun actually but we were all pretty drunk.

She talked a lot, mostly of her husband...lol. Very sweet and polite.

What was crazy was it was the exact week she cut her hair to super short so we didn't even recognize her. I was there with a friend and looked over and said "THat girl looks like D-arcy with short hair" he said "Well yeah kinda but you can tell it's not her" to which Jeff responded, "No it's her, that's her husband up there playing drums"

It was great.

I love the use of pumpkins pics in each entry. I was trying to figure out if you were her, wrtiting AS her for, like, a creative writing effect, or are just a huge fan. I do love your LJ though...I hope you don't mind if I add you.

Cheers

You have made my day. No, unfortunately, I'm not D'arcy... My dad and uncle were always obsessed with The Smashing Pumpkins, so I kind of grew up with them like some people grew up with The Beatles. They define good and brilliant music to me.

In case you're wondering, I got the pictures from http://my-mistake.net/infinitepics/

I like D'arcy's hair short, but she looked more radiant with it long. Maybe she felt like she needed a sophisticated look.
