Guys, I've been trying to contact the mods and have been unable to, so at this point I'm assuming they're probably sadly but understandably too busy with real-life to think about the October Writing comm this year

Ooops; it occurred to me that maybe I needed to respond to each individual interested person. Since it's an unofficial challenge, I didn't figure I needed to acknowledge/approve each one, but perhaps that would be the best etiquette anyway. :) I've certainly been happy to see so many wanting to participate! Welcome aboard!

I still have yet to ever manage to complete one story but I'm willing to try again. I could also tally stats. Knowing google spreadsheets is neat.
