Anyone up for an unofficial October Writing month?

Guys, I've been trying to contact the mods and have been unable to, so at this point I'm assuming they're probably sadly but understandably too busy with real-life to think about the October Writing comm this year

I've never completed the challenge, but I always love trying, so I'd totally be up for it. And if no one can tally the stories, then maybe people can do it themselves? I mean we usually know how many we write, emphasis on usually, LOL.

LOL. We've got a volunteer now for the stats, so we're pretty good to go there.

It shouldn't be too hard keeping track of how many stories we manage to write, but adding up so many word counts seems like it could be a pain, so having a volunteer who wouldn't mind that aspect is a very good thing.

Ooops; it occurred to me that maybe I needed to respond to each individual interested person. Since it's an unofficial challenge, I didn't figure I needed to acknowledge/approve each one, but perhaps that would be the best etiquette anyway. :) I've certainly been happy to see so many wanting to participate! Welcome aboard!
