i love that my feet still have tanlines from wearing my flip flops every day for the month i was in hawaii!
and i saw starfruit in the store the other day and got all wistful. sigh. -

one november morning in san francisco, i got up at 5:30 and took the bus 20 blocks west to ocean beach and roamed cautiously at my "private" hangout, the sutro bath ruins (those huge waves and warning signs were only a slight deterrent to investigating a cave and climbing up on the rocks ;). i took a few pictures at sunrise, and most of them came ( Read more... ) -

on-the-road pet peeve of the day:
public restroom stalls with no hook on the door!! you invariably have a bag with all of your much-needed possessions for the entire day, and possibly a coat as well. so where the hell are you supposed to put them while you're doing your business? not on the grimy floor, i'm sorry, no way. and a coat/rain jacket, i ( Read more... ) -

note to self:
just because you have a free apartment to stay in for two weeks, with your own keys and easy access to the ocean and the rest of san francisco, does not mean that it's an emotionally healthy place to be.
