I think he did just enough to her to destroy her innocence, without doing enough to send her crying back to the teachers. Kids talk -- it would slowly get around, and the whole mood of their little playtime would be altered.

"at nauseum" should be "ad nauseum". It literally translates as something close to "until you're sick".
Sequel? I want to know what happened to Emily! Because if it's what I think happened... that wouldn't exactly be restoring innocence, would it?
