If you'll allow the generalization: Men are usually direct, women are usually indirect (this seems to be the undercurrent of what you're saying)

Guys do it, too. We just go about it differently. The "Male Paradigm" would appear only to consist of being simple and direct; however, our simplicity also begets our carelessness and our self-absorbtion, and we become haphazard, unobservant "men." The result: we assume other people know what's on our minds because we're not actively trying to deceive them. In short, we men do the same thing on accident.

At least, that's my experience.
