Nah, not hungover at all - just exhausted from lack of sleep. I didn't sleep a WHOLE lot in Palm Springs, then drove nearly 500 miles and couldn't sleep again. Baggy eyes, but as lovely and presentable as ever!!
Depends on EXACTLY what yer looking for! Palm Springs has mostly even smaller and more, ummm, "specialized" bars than SF. My friend from NC, Joe, and his partner Stephen work at Sidewinders, which is a country-western/karaoke bar. Not my scene, really in the slightest, but LOVE the staff and end up there alot. Randy is a Sister of Perpetual Indulgence who also works the bar there - a TOTAL trip, and a mess as well - my favorite combo!
Hunter's is the twinkie/tweaker bar. Toolshed and Barracks are for HARDcore leather daddies - Barracks being the scariest of the two. There's also all sortsa clothing optional resorts available that I'm FAR too demure to discuss (on the LJ...)
Gimme a call if you want more of an, ummm, heads up... ;)
Thanks! How about any good resturants? Things to do/see? Not that I'll probably have any time for it, as I'll be working the whole weekend.
Btw, I just found out that the boys in the unit next door to us (above PegasusSF and Robco) are probably moving/selling sometime in the near future. One of them got transferred to San Diego. They have a 2 bedroom identical to the one downstairs, if you've ever seen it. I'd guess low 6's.
Downtown Palm Springs is kinda tourist-Hell, but it IS worth visiting. There's a 10000 foot mountain that rises straight up a couple of blocks up from the main strip, so it's impressive. Although I've never made the time to do it, there's a cable-car ride you can take to the summit that I've heard is amazing.
Las Casuelas Terrazza is touristy, but has great margaritas. The Sunshine Cafe is a fun hole-in-the-wall place for lunch or breakfast. We also had a good meal at a place called Look this time around.
Hit Sidewinders and ask for Joe, Stephen, or Randy to direct you toward whatever you're after - and drop my name, of course! It's a small area, so impossible to get lost.
Will look into the condo - was hoping to stay at or below the mid-500's... SIGH...
