Nevaeh, my grandmothers pit bull, bit Scout today.

Funny, I've been away from LJ for a while now, and I guess it was cuz my ears were burning since my name was mentioned in your post.

I wish I had more books to recommend, but there aren't many. Celeste West wrote a decent one about lesbian polyfidelity. And if they are academically inclined, check out Heaphy, Donovan and Weeks' book chapter in 'State of Affairs'. (I love Jeffrey Weeks, almost as much as I love your songs of the day, but not nearly as much as I love snail mail CDs from you, and equal to how much I love Queer Ambassadors)

Best bet is online - simple good on polyamory pulls up some how-to type sites. Or if they are LJ-inclined, there are communities that post problem-solving concerns (Polyamory and Polyamorous)
