Just for the hell of it, I have been watching the FOX News since it came on after my stories. In the fifteen minutes that I have been watching it (as I get dressed after a shower), they had what seemed like a montage of death ( Read more... )

well actually, youre really supposed to READ the news. i like bbc.com. its not fox, but it's not some retarded blogger, either.

I would agree with the_freckle. Reading the news is a much better way of finding out what is actually going on. American news in general really doesn't give an accurate picture of whats going on, so the bbc is a good source. Newspapers tend to be better than anything on the tube. A good independent online source is the Christian Science Monitor which can be found at www.csmonitor.com. I've definetly had the same reaction that you had. The reason that tube news is like that is because the news has become another form or sensational entertainment in America, which means finding out what's going on in the world means reading things from various sources. i would like to point out that i do not watch the fox news on any sort of regular basis. it was on, and i was watching it, and i was mortified.

i'm aware of "better news", and someday i'll take an intrest in it. as it is, its hard enough focusing on making rent.
