Won my miniatures battle, fairly decisively.  Mostly there were a couple points where I got lucky (when my knights were fragmented and fighting in 2 directions, but managed to barely win and no rout, for example), but Joel's initial deployment had some weakness I was able to exploit.  He set up without his forces in real supporting range, which led ( Read more... )

Spent much of the day assembling a pike & shotte unit, which was tricky.  Thank goodness for fast tacky glue, otherwise I'd never have managed to get the arms in place.  Managed to black prime them up, even.  No paint on them, yet ( Read more... )

Did a food experiment.

• Canned crab meat + monterey jack with jalapeno cheese + clove of garlic, chopped and blended in the magic bullet.
• Chicken breast, fillet removed.  Cut the breast into a 'pocket' and stuffed with 2 teaspoons of the crab & cheese mixture.  Season with lemon pepper, fresh ground pepper and a dash of sea salt.

Advair seems to be helping, and my energy levels are improving, too.  Spent the day tidying up and organizing the miniatures to prep for the weekend.

Watched some original Battlestar Galactica, too.  Curse you, Netflix!

Slept most of the day.   Trying to rest up, and cope with this cough thing.  Painted the ECW figs.  In the evening, popped out for dinner with Kelly, and then over to her place to try some photos in her apartment.  She has an interesting rockwall, and the pics turned out okay.

Went to the clinic, got some more advair.  Doesn't seem to be a cold or a flu, just the continuing infection.

Nelson came over, we watched Buckaroo Banzai, and played Rabids Go Home on the Wii.  I think he enjoyed himself.

Spent the other part of the day working on the ECW figures.

Work continues on the English Civil War cavaliers, with me having now assembles the bits for the other 2 bases of the first unit.  These I've base coated in black, and we'll see if that works better than the white ( Read more... )
