We say this so often that it barely, um, bears repeating, but yes. Stuff...stuff sucks. I understand the thing about the group going alright, apart from a few core/kaw people I don't see the larger crowd we used to hang with. Life is getting in the way, as entheo would say.

One alternative is, of course, to sacrifice overseas for independence and then turn your place into a 24/7 party shack. That might require too much effort though...

So unfortunately I can't offer any very good advice apart from: Drive the 400km over here! Drink absinthe! Bitch about people! Which is sound advice but probably won't fix anything.

I was thinking about that, actually, but isn't it a bit late now for a birthday party? Like it'd have to be more than a month later than my birthday. And then it just comes across like a "give-me-presents" party, rather than a birthday party. :)

But, on second thoughts... you're good at these things - what sort of party?
