1) i presume you're talking about either somalia or bosnia. i'm not familiar with them, so i will state this: clinton wasn't fighting so his own companies would get cheap oil to sell to the american people
( ... )
1. we were in bosnia with NATO. wesley clark was heading up the nato troops? "Clark commanded Operation Allied Force in the Kosovo conflict." NATO troops were involved-which means, we did in fact have most of the world's support. in bush's war-NATO, no matter how corrupt you think it to be, and basically most nations don't support him
( ... )
1. Afghanistan (great...),the united kingdom (only 5% of the population agree with this and there is a motion to impeach tony blair) Albania (with 70 troops), Australia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, El Salvador, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, the Netherlands (1,100 troops), Nicaragua, the Philippines, Poland (pulling out), Romania, Slovakia, Spain (pulling out w/honduras), Turkey, United Kingdom and Uzbekistan
( ... )
i don't want to be redundant since kevin and zoe already said most of what i wanted to say, but i just wanted to add:
- yes, NATO supported the war under clinton, and NATO is a huge organization. and at least clinton stayed true to his word about why he wanted to go to war. he sent us into bosnia because of the mass genocide, and this remained his reason throughout the war. at first bush claimed that iraq was an imminent threat, that it had weapons of mass destruction. then he decided this was a war against terrorism.
- raising taxes is essential for funding health care and education and labor. i emphasize this last one because it is under bush's presidency that the LARGEST number of jobs have been lost, more than any other president in american history. not to mention that we now have almost a TRILLION dollar deficit.
- we have to "lower standards" for certain minorities, although i consider it more along the lines of giving them opportunities rather than "lowering standards." someone who grew up in south central does not have the
( ... )
With two dance companys and a play going, I have no time to make any attempt to answer any of these. What I will say: just because I say I'm liberal doesn't bind me into one opinion on the above topics. Julia, you're fierce! Haha.
of course not. i'm making generalizations, which i am free to do, and you are free to not be bound by them. i do think that for the most part my statements are accurate, but of course i realize that not all liberals fall into the above categories. :)
