Our ISP is the new AT&T monopoly. We've had various problems with them, the most obvious being that no NY Times pages would ever load on either of our computers in less than five minutes or so. Yes, we found a place that is very cheap, on the far low end of apartments in SF. It is very small, but big enough. On the edge of a sketchy neighborhood, but not too unsafe. In similar situations when I was only a little bit younger, I certainly was. Now I'm just at-90%-shield-strength-hearted. I've been through this so many times. I'm really disoriented right now. Lack of sleep alone certainly does that, but the thing most responsible for moving being so much more difficult than it seems it should be is that dismantling one's home takes an emotional toll.
