Chapter two.
Part one.
First Day Of My Life.

July, 2005.

You sat on a lawn chair, with a book in Your lap. You honestly forgot the title. You didn't think it was important to remember since You usually go through a book every few days. Why waste time trying to remember? You'd been sitting in the same spot on the roof of Your apartment building. Yes, Yours. You'd moved in a few weeks ago, away from Your oldest brother's hectic life. You were sure to stay close to them, only a few streets down, in Brooklyn. You were waiting to see how long it would take until Justin decided to get his own place or even ask You for the spare room.

You took a drag from Your cigarette and brush the hair away from Your eyes that the wind was blowing. It was a beautiful day. The sun was beating down on the rooftop but the cool wind that blew was making the air seem pleasant.

You heard the large metal door open, making You turn towards it, across the empty roof. A woman appeared. Her eyes widened when they landed on You.

"Oh, I'm sorry," she said quickly, "I didn't mean to disturb You. I just wanted to see-"

You grin at her and shake Your head, making Your hair fall into Your eyes, "It's okay, You can come out."

She looked hesitant at first then soon gave in and walked over to You. You turn back to the city and look out at the buildings that pierce through the blue, slightly clouded, sky. Your eyes avert over to the girl, whose now standing in front of the short wall. She’s skinny but not too skinny like all the other girls around here. You can see that she still has that healthy layer of fat over her muscle. She’s wearing a pair of bell bottoms that grasp her legs and plain black tank top. Her hair is brown and wavy and comes down to her shoulders. She’s wearing a graffiti belt side ways and the skate shoes had two different colored shoe laces in each shoe. This makes You smile a little. Her ears have three earrings in each ear. It makes You kind of happy to see a girl that doesn't look like a wannabe model for the first time in a while.

When You look back at the sky, he eyes go to You. You can see her smiling, "I'm Brook."

You look at her and smile a little. You can tell by the slightly annoyed roll of the eyes that she knows why You find this humorous; 'Brook lives in Brooklyn,'

"Yeah, I know. Shut up." she laughs.

You laugh too and grab the left side of Your book with Your left hand and reach across Your body to shake Brook's hand with Your right hand, "Conor,"

"Nice to meet You Conor." she smiles again and You can tell, its something she does often, "I just moved in a few days ago."

"Me too," You say then pause for a second, "Only, a few weeks ago."

She laughs, "Where'd You move here from?"

Your right hand that isn't gripping Your book points to Your right, "A few streets down. I lived with my brothers and friends and it became too much so I finally moved out."

"Have You been here Your whole life?"

You shake Your head, "No, I moved here in 2002 when I was seventeen with my brothers from Nebraska." Your feeling uncomfortable with talking so much so You quickly ask, “What about You?”

Brook starts pulling her hair back and wraps it into a messy bun, “I lived in Nevada. I‘ve been here so many times and told myself I‘d move here sometime but never did. Then finally, I got off my ass and started packing.”

You nod. There was a minute of silence and You take that as an excuse to go back to Your book. Brook is facing the city again. Her comment makes You look up even though You weren’t totally sure if she was talking to You.

"I wonder what it looks like at night." her voice was quiet, as if she was thinking aloud.

You answer anyway with, "It's beautiful."

Brook looks over her shoulder at You with a huge smile on Your face and You can't help but mimic that grin back.
-----------

You both were sitting on Your couch, You and Brook, watching a movie that neither of You were paying attention to. She brought over a bottle of cheap wine and You found out that she was a pretty interesting person. You were pretty sure she thought the same thing about You too. Anything You said, she'd ask 'why' or 'how' or 'what’s that' and that just made You like her even more. There wasn't anything sexual between the two of You. You just thought she was a really cool person. It was funny how You never really knew what You were missing all those years of being alone.

You poured some wine into a glass for Yourself and Brook. The two of You were quiet and You could tell she was watching Your hands as You poured the red liquor in a glass. As Yours about to hand it to her, she puts her hand on Yours gently. Your not sure what she’s doing but You fallow anyway as Brook slowly leads both Your hands to set the glass on the table. You don't move as she leans forward across the couch and presses her lips to Yours. All thoughts of 'no sexual tension' fades away.

You've kissed girls before. You even had a girlfriend before. How that held up, You didn't really know. You didn't talk to her and You were pretty sure she only dated You because You were attractive in her eyes. It was a long time ago though. When You were sixteen at least. That was when You had Your last kiss.

Your momentary shock goes away and You kiss her back. You gasp into Brook's mouth when You feel her climb onto Your lap. She takes this as a way to sneak her tongue into Your mouth. She was drunk, You knew that. Both of You were. It doesn't matter what happens when Your drunk, right? With this thought, You wrap Your arms around her back and bring her closer to You.

It seems all too soon when Brook finally brakes away. You think she’s about to say something but instead, she kisses down Your face to Your neck. A moan comes out unexpectingly as she begins to suck the pale skin. Your think back to all the movies You've seen and try to do what they usually do because, hell, You've never done anything like this ever before.

So, You start to move Your hands under the back of her shirt. She arches more into You then goes back to Your lips. Her hands are gripping Your hair. She pulls away and brings her lips to Your ear. Her hot breath is hitting the shell of Your hair in pants, matching Your breathing patterns.

You'll never forget when she mumbled, "Show me Your bedroom."
