Security update

Mar 10, 2010 10:41

All old posts are now friendslocked. Nothing's happened, it's just that I've been writing in this thing since I was sixteen, with all the emotional maturity that implies, and I'm trying to take a few steps to control the amount of information available about me on the tubes.

Update on life, coming soon.

I hear you. I had a year ago post bite me in the ass not long ago. I'd forgotten about it, but apparently other people were bored enough to scan my journal and.. yeah.

What did you use to do it? It's something I've been meaning to look into for some time now. For largely the same reasons.

If you upgrade to a paid account (which is just US$5 for the two-month minimum) there's a tool you can use to mass edit the security settings for posts - either all of them or during a set time period. You can also finesse it so it only affects posts with a particular security setting: so, in my case, all public posts became friendslocked, but posts set to private or on a particular filter were left unchanged.

Yeah, I did exactly the same thing a few months back. Well worth it, now that I look back on my old posts.

Hey! I'm Zoe, I met you at the Geeksoc Freshers thing.
I have also been LJing since age 16 and mine also contains much immaturity and teenage drama. Lol.
