we are the lucky ones
Life is much better overall. I'm walking far more steadily with God, which is a huge part. The other is unburying myself slowly and surely through school work, stress peeling back from layers. I still have to see what scholarships I can still apply for given my lag. This scares me, but 1) it is my own damn fault and 2) and God is big than my idiocy ( Read more... ) -
look around, we're living with the lost and found.
So I have my internship site. I will be interning at the psychiatric treatment center. They have sexually reactive kids, violent kids, kids with attachment disorders and more. I'm frightened, but I know its what I need to do. Its exposure I may not get anywhere else and represents some of the most extreme kids I could get on my future caseload. It' ( Read more... ) -

just don't turn away
One of the thing's I'm working on is letting go of my utter self-loathing. I've come a long way and tolerate myself most days with only the occasional bout of self-loathing. Self-forgiveness is coming far more slowly. Knowing that God forgave me long hasn't made it easy to forgive myself ( Read more... ) -

It's been an interesting week. I took a small book of devotionals to work, something I do occasionally. This weekend, though, it made all the difference. I've been struggling and had have had the feeling of slipping under for the past few weeks and then it's over. I've somehow stumbled into a new, peaceful place. I suppose it makes sense. I have a nice, sweet and very passionate lesbian in my class. She is into student activism. This is fine and I admire her passion. What drives me crazy is that she cannot have a single conversation without the topic. We can be talking about sex slaves and trafficking and she will find a way to bring in and express concern for the much afflicted gay ( Read more... ) -

Wow. Has it been ages since I've posted. I don't know who's around anymore. Things are good and horrible at the same time. I've succeeded in school, managed straight eyes and have some scholarship possibilities. Curse you, Perry the Platypus!
So, I obviously didn't bring home a puppy. I did bring home a kitten. She was a half starved, flea ridden thing that needed a bath and a few good meals. By the time we found her a home, she was an adorable, spoiled calico fluff ball. I miss the cuteness, but I'm glad she found a home. I didn't need one more high maintenence animal ( Read more... )
