Fuck men (not sexually obviously, fuck that). I was reading my local newspaper and saw that a man who lives two doors over from me (the house behind mine and then one over) was arrested this week for dozens of counts of CSA that went on for 15 years. And he was a "leader in the community". He used his position of authority to groom and abuse students at a Christian school. I know, "Not all men!" but it's enough men (including the one that assaulted me in college) that it makes me lean more toward fuck men than not.

I've freelanced in child safety for about seven years now, and there's a lot to be said about how predators don't just groom their target child, they groom the communities around them, usually by becoming leaders and trusted figures within said community. Like it's very, very common in a class of 20 kids for a predator to be 19 kids' favourite teacher as they prey on the 1, and that is, in fact, an active part of the grooming process. I wish more resources were put into helping people understand that, because it's truly a vital part of stopping this sort of thing from happening.
