I never got the hype for Lovely Runner besides how attractive the guy lead is, and it kinda shows how he's literally the #1 most popular person right now in Korea still and the girl is like nowhere to be seen lol. My fave drama this year was Midnight Romance/Hagwon though, the dialogue and storyline was just chef's kiss.

It truly showcased a problem within the industry itself too. Kim Hye-Yoon deserves the same level of fame, sponsorships, events, roles, etc.

I've mentioned this in other posts, but I'm watching my first ever kdrama - The King's Affection. I've been resisting the lure of kdramas because I just knew they would suck me into a bingeing vortex. Sigh! And these all sound interesting. I'm probably watching the Crash Landing into You next. Several coworkers have recommended it...

Someone tell me Love Next Door is salvageable. I got to the BIG PLOT LINE and lost interest immediately. I wanted a romcom?

I have a few on my to-watch list but never find the motivation to get through it. I just want one that's really good and not drift off with 1/3 left in the series (looking at you Queen of Tears).

Love Next Door just felt like bad marketing. There was barely any comedy. I just skipped through most of it from the half, and it's just not comedy from there at all basically. It's more like a family melodrama. I don't think it's bad, it's just not the genre the marketing says it is.

I think the Big Plot Line is kinda actually not a Big Plot Line. lmao. After like 2 eps it's not a focus at all.

I hated Queen of Tears.
Couldn’t make past ep 2. It was just too cheesy

I am also sad for not liking QoT since the main actors are my faves, they are super talented, the plot is just not it for me.

I watched the full show and while I didn’t hate it, I did not understand the hype at all. The hype almost made me hate it if that makes sense hahaha.

Lovely runner felt too bloated and repetitive and they acted like children, even in the adult parts. And the brother with the best friend side plot annoyed me.

The only 2 kdramas I loved this year were love in the big city (nam yoon soo and the cast killed. It's a great adaptation. Really killed me and stayed with me) and let free the curse of taekwondo (stuck the landing which is SO rare. Cathartic). Ty korean gays for bringing it when their hetero counterparts have flopped.

Im watching the trunk with gong yoo rn. It's SO different from the book (which I hated) and yet still not good. Maybe his 2 second Squid game cameo will be better.
