Hey, I've got nothing to do today but smile.

Okay. I had my first eight o'clock class today. Waking up was hell but two of the girls in my class live on my floor so I'm hoping we can work out a banging-on-the-door-to-wake-each-other-up system. I think I'll like Intro to Mass Media, not because it's interesting necessarily but because my teacher is just so awake and funny. She's also a lesbian ( Read more... )

Well I mean she was like the stereotype. She was wearing mens clothing and had a really short hair cut. Maybe that was stupid of me to say but it's just something I've never experienced. You know, how there are gay men all over the media and it's more in our pop culture. Lesbians in pop culture are just hot girls that make out.

*cough*

Ellen Degenerous, Rosie O'Donnel, Melissa Etheridge, Porshe Something-Or-Other, Tracy Gold, Missy Eliot (supposedly), K.D. Lang, etc...

*/cough*

It certainly surprised me that you say that. No offense intended or taken, just surprising.

Yeah but they're practially outcasts to the media. Why doesn't Rosie have her own show anymore? Melissa Etheridge is sooo 1994. You don't know Porshe's last name. Who is Tracy Gold? Missy Elliot is a maybe. KD Lang also 1994. Meanwhile you have Will & Grace, Queer Eye, Queer as Folk, Elton John, yadda yadda. "Dykes" aren't popular.

I've thought about this a lot, and I wanted to say I am sorry if I offended you in any way.

I asked a few peoples opinions on ^ this thread, wondering if I was really hearing what you were saying. Plus I was in a weird mood that day. The consensus was:

-neither of us really understood the other person's point
-neither of us are actually inherently 'wrong'

Regardless of whether or not you believe those two conclusions, I wanted to move past this. You are not obligated to say anything in response, or even accept it, but I am sorry.

It's okay, Darren. I actually wasn't offended. It was just a debate. I'm sorry if I offended you. :good feelings:
