Elena,

Thanks for the plug for my site :D and I am definitely with you on how completely appalling the whole thing is. I don't think the fundamentalists care about global warming because they honestly believe the rapture will arrive before then. As far as completely denying it exists, well, big oil has spent millions getting people to question global warming, and I guess this crowd that blindly obeys was the ideal target for their campaign.

I think I might have been sneering the whole time I read Falwell's gibberish. Why...why must the world be plagued by such misguided souls! It does almost seem as if anyone who is conservative and Christian, by default, believes that global-warming is a hoax, or a hippie-induced panic. But denial is always so hard to prove...especially to those who have made their judgments of others before knowing the facts...and worse, without caring about the facts.

I was thinking "good riddance" which is terrible to think when someone dies, but he just makes me sick.
it's true about the caring about the facts part. it seems that some people will just reject anything scientific, because they think it can't be proved in the name of "healthy skepticism, all the while preaching about RELIGION, which actually CAN'T be proved (which is fine, but that's why faith and science are two different things). argh.

Thank god he's dead. The less people in the world like that, the better. Did you see Jesus Camp? A camp made to brainwash little kids to believe crap just like that. It is good, but scary. If you haven't seen it I suggest renting it.

Actually, i was reading (somewhere) that some of the Christian conservatives are palling up with the hippy environmentalists because they do actually believe in global warming. I'll see if i can find out anything more.
