how we waste our precious time....

Today was long, but good. As always, I love the days where Marty doesn't have to work. We got up, hung around the house, then headed downtown to obtain the marriage license. We took Max and walked around the UTC campus, and took lots of pictures. We have such a nature baby hehe ( Read more... )

the yellow deli doesn't get bad press because it is a cult. it gets bad press because the man who owns it draws people in and then they become slaves in his deli's. and that is so wrong. whether or not you believe in god or freedom of religion or whatever it all comes down to poor people getting drawn into a life of slavery you should really read about it more. read stories of people who escaped it. Christians may want the cult gone but its not just about that and it is ridiculous that people claim it is. people, i guess, are just ignorant to it.

after i wrote this i didn't mean to sound like i was saying you were ignorant. what i meant to try to get out was that people keep screaming freedom of religion freedom of religion. but when does it end there? thinking about a man becoming rich off of getting people to live in his commune and making them slaves just makes me sick and i don't feel like it has anything to do with religion at all. i just wish people would stop crying out freedom of religion and start maybe realizing why people are so against it. i know plenty of athiests and non believers who won't eat there because they don't feel like slavery is right. and i know plenty of black people who won't eat there because of the racist beliefs of the group. so i feel like its not just about religion.

I get what you're saying...I've read up a lot on the 12 tribes, and I do know about their negative publicity and when you go in there...they seem too nice and it is creepy...my post was pretty much just rambling...but i also feel like if the government is going to stay out of religion...then religion needs to stay out of the government...since you know...it's working out so well for them in the middle east.

I was totally surprised about that, by the way. People cheering in a sports bar for gay couples in the buckle of the Bible Belt?

My work makes me have hope for mankind.

The end.

i totally agree with you about the Bible. It's King James' version of God's word and it's been (mis)translated a gazillion times. It also says you can't eat shrimp. I don't think it's right to pick and choose what to go by and the other parts are irrelevant or outdated or what ( ... )

yet again...thanks for sending me that message...it's nice to know that I'm not the only person that believe that God gave us a brain so we could use it....saying that every single word of the bible is the literal word of god means you agree with slavery, that women should not have leadership roles (it also says if a woman gets raped she has to marry the man who raped her)....I could go on forever....you CAN'T pick and choose and pretend those parts of the bible don't exist and then turn around and say that you have to take all of the bible and that it is the literal word of god...it's such a contradiction.
