I love your Japan stories. They remind me of Russian stories. I think visiting another culture kicks ass, especially over an extended period of time. Some old babushka in the elevator of our hostel grabbed one girl's boobs and patted another one's crotch while saying something in Russian...we were also cornered by a troup of high school girls who wanted to know if they were in fashion. I guess they didn't know who they were talking to :) asking a bunch of scientists for tips on what's in style...
reminds me of my conversation this morning! me-"i have a meeting at 10am on Jan. 5th, we have english camp then, so I will miss camp" jihye-"I am worried about your trip to japan!" me-"what?" jihye-"there is a problem with your trip to japan?" me-"No, I go to Japan on January 7th. This is about January 5th, I have a meeting about district english camp at the same time I have english camp at our school with you" Jihye-"you go to Japan January 7th?" me-"yes" Jihye-"then there is no problem!" have fun in a land without language barriers!
