NOTE: This journal has a continuity, in which this is only the latest entry. Please begin with #1I think the best place to start, the best place from which to approach the matter of Reality, is with something we all know, but perhaps have never considered where it can take us ( Read more... )

Hi, acid_farie...

I have to respond, because you are the very first to send me a response since I started this thing, a month or two ago. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't bother, because we are in such totally different worlds! Which doesn't mean a connection can't be established, but the question is how well we can understand each other.

Of course, on another level, it could be a perfect illustration, or experiment, of two radically different realities seeing if they can bridge the gap between them. Are you up for experimentation?

Anyway, it was nice -if strange- to get your feedback. And I am always open to more. Be well, my momentary farie friend...

Ahh, you're more than welcome, and thanks in return.

I've begun to think I may actually be the oldest LJer! Well, the few nearly-as-old I've so far run into seem to fit the usual stereotype of these outer years, which has been rather disappointing. I mean, I don't expect much more from what I encounter around home, but on a site like this I guess I did.

Oh, well . . .

Being old and boring pretty much goes hand in hand. I hope I don't go into that dark trap as well. I look forward to being the old freak someday, goddamn the geezers.

wandered here from _nuffism. yu may have been hinting at this, but the theory of the two halves of the brain being seperate entities sort of goes along with one of my own. i've noticed that hunches tend to be right more often than not, so i always figured it was just a deeper part of the brain processing information that goes unnoticedon te surface and piping up, telling you its conclusions. it sort of goes along with the idea that one half of the brain is mute, and must find it's own subtler ways of comunicating. and as one half of the brain is not running the show, it must have the energy to make all those slightly less than logical concusions. now i wish i wasn't so tired and could continue to flesh out this idea.

We are exactly on the same wavelength, Matt. Once the subject is explored, it turns out that there are many possible avenues for that communication to take place. Hunches are a perfectly good one, but there are many more. It revolves around making some kind of 'agreement' with your inner or silent self to 'pay attention' to some particular kind of connection -- perhaps dreams, perhaps synchronicities . . . virtually anything that can constitute a 'signal', with understanding on your own part as to what is coming across. Some of the so-called 'oracles' that come down to us from ancient times, like the Tarot and the Chinese 'I Ching' are exactly of that sort. The inner self, I believe, probably makes a closer and more effective connection with the outer self, once that kind of interaction has been achieved.

One could carry this speculation quite a bit farther. Is there really much difference from the evangelistic proposition that to "ask Jesus into your heart" can have a real effect on changing your life? I do not happen to be a born- ( ... )

Hunches .............. perhaps dreams, perhaps synchronicities

And Gut Feelings? Oh I do love to pay attention to gut feelings and to Synchronosity also.

I feel one has to learn to listen to both. Learn to notice both. Be open to both, speaking to us.

Yes? No? Maybe? :-)

Is there really much difference from the evangelistic proposition that to "ask Jesus into your heart" can have a real effect on changing your life? Mmmm.... Interesting.... Instead of needing {as those types say we do} to ask a religious figure to be inward and advise us ~~ If we simply decide to let our own silent inner mind, talk to us... In whatever way it can ( ... )

You're absolutely right (and thanks for letting me know someone is watching). I've just been two weeks out of town, is part of the problem, but my general lag is because too many things have been going on in my world. Anyway, I appreciate the prompt, and I'll soon get back into it.

Cool! I added you to my friends-list. And now I'm going to have a look at the new entry I inspired. ;-)
