James Rigney, Jr. aka Robert Jordan, author of the Wheel of Time series, passed away last night after a lengthy battle with amyloidosis.

So my brother got back from Africa about a week and a half ago, ostensibly in good shape except for a cough. Well, the cough got worse and added a fever. I was doing a two-hour fencing demo thing on Thursday morning with Ben for this stage-combat class and Rob was going to come with me, but that was when the fever struck.
