Well, I finally don't have to say I've lived in Arizona over six years and still haven't gotten around to seeing the Grand Canyon. It really is grand. Scary too, looking down over the edge. The bottom is so far away.

I'm going to have to go back when I have more time, and camp over at the bottom. They say Phantom Ranch is crawling with

Fireworks last night were very nice. They did one volley set to Coldplays, "Viva la Vida" which was strange. It's kind of a sad song for fireworks. Plus, aren't they an English band? Sunday: Went down to Tucson to visit my baby otter who moved there to start her own family. She seems very happy with her new mate, and he seems very happy with her. They're already playing together, and I expect they'll have baby otters by year's end ( Read more... )

Yesterday I saw a wild roadrunner not 10 feet away from me, walking alongside me for a bit as I returned home from my mailbox. It wasn't concerned about me very much, I think mostly because a couple little birds were mobbing it, and they kept a bit of a distance from me. Very nice day today.  Slept in a bit, medicated the weasels (all four are doing well, Koda's blimped out to spectacular proportions now; she was so gaunt and skeletal when I adopted them), then chatted online a bit.

Nice day at the zoo yesterday. Nothing particularly special happened. Otters and wallabies and monkeys and dragons were good. I prevented a number of minor problems.
