Ayame finished her course of enrofloxicin (a really, really nasty tasting antibiotic) last night. This morning I played a joke on her. I scruffed her up just like normal, and got her medicine syringe ready. She was shivering and dangling dejectedly, knowing the retched taste was coming...and then it didn't. Hope everyone had a happy St. Cuthbert's Day. Mine wasn't very ottery but it was nice. Went to the Luke AFB airshow, and saw many neat planes, including the F/A-18E in flight, and an F on the ground. And stuff. Ferrets and I continue to recover well. Ayame hates her enrofloxicin with a passion, Luci actually seems to have gotten to like her clavamox. Sadly, it's Ayame who has to take more of it, I have to check my math tomorrow night but I think tomorrow morning is Luci's last dose. Ayame has almost another week.

I got the results of Koda's postmortem exam today, while bringing Luci in for her monthly glucose check and Lupron shot. Luci's doing fine, feisty as always and even gained some weight. With Koda, ( it wasnt' what we thought. )

At 8:51am Koda was injected, and her heart stopped at 8:53. The vet said it took so long because it was pumping so poorly it wasn't getting the drug distributed. Her lungs weren't working very well either, probably because of her heart. She was under general anesthesia though, no pain at that point ( Read more... )
