[Oliver is still in his suit, sitting on the end of his bed, and not looking happy at all]

Well, that definitely wasn't what I was hoping for when I went in there. [sighs] Damn captain. So, party's over just like that, and I'm definitely locked in here now. Nothing new for me, but I have a feeling I'm not the only one who is. Is everybody ( Read more... )

So you made it in?

Yeah, I was there, for all the good it did. I take it you were stuck waiting in line?

I was. Who pissed off the Captain?

Someone very tiny.

It seems like it was. There must be all sorts of programming in here… [giving the sphere a thoughtful look] Abrupt way to end it, though.

It's just like when we left him messages--any questions about what the journey's for, and he goes ballistic.

Figures that that'd be the trigger. But before that, he was… acting sort of normal, wasn't he? Distracted, but kind of normal.

Normal for him? Yeah, basically. A bit more mental than usual, I think.

That Captain's crazy! Did you at least get anything outta him before he went nuts? He was babbling some weird things to me.

Yeah, 'cause you're the one who set him off! Who are yo--wait! Waitwaitwait! You were in the TARDIS' body, weren't you? Ammy's friend.

Hey I didn't do it on purpose! Don't blame me!

And yeah, I was. And am.

Yeah, uh...Ishu? I...nope. What was your name again? Anyway, you might want to be careful. I have a feeling some other people might do just that.

About all I got out of him was he thinks we've been travelling for four months. He also said he'd try to do something about the lack of communication, but I have a feeling that's not the case anymore. That and there's something very wrong with him. [frowns] We have a feeling he might already be dead.

[Klavier had ditched his tie and jacket as soon as he could, and is in the process of putting his rings back on.]

To be honest, I wish I had a switch like that to eject people from parties. I can see how it would be handy.

Annoying, though. And not something I would classify an "emergency".

Yeah, it'd be good if it were you in control! You wouldn't eject the whole party at once and lock them up.

No... I have a feeling things have just gone very wrong.

You're right about that. Did we find out anything remotely useful while we were in there?

Everything I got out of it is confusing. The captain told me we'd been travelling for four months now--as if he only remembers this cycle--but the Doctor thinks he knows a lot more than that. He just seemed really mixed up and distracted. Either he's madder than a hatter, or something else is causing him to be all...weird.

I'm fine. [Aerith looks a little rumpled where she was dumped on her economy bed, her hair starting to fall out of its high knot.] I think it was the spheres, and I'm pretty sure that system is designed not to injure anyone when it transports them.

Careful what you say, Oliver. But I think something is making Ganymede act the way he is. When I got close to him I could feel something, well, gnawing on him for lack of a better term. An outside force is what's making him unstable. I have a feeling that's the source of our problems.

[frowns, making a face] Yeah, sorry. I'm just a bit...frustrated. But an outside force? You really think so? I mean, I know he seemed distracted, but was something else causing that, or was that his own madness?

And uh... [sheepish] You're Aerith, right? I know I've seen you around, but I don't think we've really talked.

I think it's something else that's causing the madness. I can't say what for sure, because I couldn't get a good feel for it. I didn't want to barge in and check without permission.

[She smiles, nodding as she pushes a ringlet of hair out of her face.] That's alright. It's nice to meet you, Oliver.

[blinks] What do you mean?

Nice to meet you, too, Aerith!
