(Cross-posted...)

It's just about impossible for me to pick a favourite speech of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., but this one would have to be in that range. I think it works now (http://www.sweethoney.com) -- I think the site may have been overloaded after the show. There's a song that starts playing as the site loads, so you can get a sample. The newest album, Experience 101, is fantastic!

You are so right about remembering not to just focus on the slogans and sound bites...

Oh man! Well, the more recent favourites are "I Like it that Way", "Do What the Spirit Say Do", and "Member of the World Community", "Education is the Key"...I love "Nature Song", "I Love to Laugh", "Sojourner's Battle Hymn", "Down the Road I Be Going", "Balm in Gilead","Beatitudes"...oh, and their new "Dog, Dog" song.... :-) What about you?

The new album is really good. It's so much fun to take my daughter to see them; my mother took us when I was little.

Listening to MLK always hits me hard! His words are amazing, and his speeches themselves...yeah.

And it sounds like a cool concert! I found them while looking for a recording of a song from Lion Boy--cool that you got to see them live!

I get chills every time...I used to have a great audio collection of his speeches that I'd love to get again (it was on cassette). And yeah, the writing...I have no words.

Sweet Honey in the Rock is AMAZING live. Those voices, and the acoustics in Carnegie Hall, of course. (Hats off to the sound crew.)
