So many wistful hopes I never thought were in reach are coming to pass. It comes easily to me to play down my own successes - it doesn't count, after all, if it's only me who managed it.

I'm teaching myself to celebrate everything I've achieved instead of focusing on how far I have left to go. Balance, after all, is what I most believe in.

Anxious, frustrated, overwhelmed -  asking why I keep doing this to myself.

Thank you, for showing me why. Thank you for giving me the inspiration to go on.

Ways in which being a grownup is awesome: Buying and eating a box of gift chocolates just because you want to. Even though it's not your birthday.

I wont make the same mistake. This time, I choose me first.

I'm learning not to let misplaced loyalty and obligation rule me. It seems I can just get up and walk away and to hell with the consequences I leave behind.

It feels pretty damn fine. 

I'm enjoying Auckland. The weather has been really pleasing, and it's been fun finding new places to eat out and buy food. Our upstairs neighbour is dreadfully loud and inconsiderate but we'll just move once we can afford to pay for removalists again. Until then, earplugs and shaking our fists at the ceiling.
