I just today realized that my childhood is really over. I have a home of my own. Not a dorm, an actual place to live with bathrooms and a kitchen, and most noticeably, a rent. And bills. I have a job. An honest to goodness, 5 night a week job, and its for much more than extra cash. I guess I always thought as long as I went to school I was a kid, ( Read more... )

Yeah, life can be more difficult when it's you on your own, without that safety net there the whole time. It's good though. I'm glad to hear you're doing well up there, and that city is treating you well. I know that home has a lot of difficult memories right now, I can't begin to understand. Just make sure you keep in touch with your family, they still need you. More than you probably realize right now. My advice (if you don't already do this) is to make a schedule and call your mom every Sunday. Even if you talked to her on Saturday, keep a schedule, so she can expect it.

Say hello to Dustin and Becky and everyone else, and have a great summer.

That's awesome, melancholy, amazing, etc., etc., but mostly it seems good. I'm happy for you, even though you're not a child anymore. It'll be good to see you again, lynne!
