I've been playing since about '78 or '79 myself. Started with the red book (basic) and the blue book (expert), though the very first of the "real" Advanced D&D books I owned was the Monster Manual (which I read cover to cover, eager to absorb all that D&D goodness). It wasn't my intro to fantasy (reading Homer's Iliad and Odyssey at around 6 or 7 was my launching point), but it really opened me up to exploring roleplaying and interacting with others.

I've not played D&D in years. I'm envious. Got openings in that there group, Omaha? :)

We've actually just taken on a fifth player which is my limit. However I may be interested in having guests to play NPC's from time to time. If you're interested we could talk later.
