My Life...what it's been like

Over the past year or so I've been pretty quiet. There are a number of reasons for this...some of which I'll mention in this post, some of which I won't. Some I may never actually discuss. I feel guilty a lot that I socialize here, email, facebook instead of "in the real world", but the reality is I'd have lost track of SO many people if I didn't.

I was just thinking yesterday "why do I only see people when there's work to be done?" and then today realized there are three really important chores all needing to be done today, and all of them more than a day's chore.

I'm glad you'll be posting. It shouldn't be so hard to get together, but it just is. It gets easier when kids get older, so I hear.

With all of the things the two of us have on our collective plates, it's a wonder that we ever have time to breath, let alone do anything else!

I've decided that I will try to set aside a little time each week as time for myself...things to do for me. You won't believe how hard that will be for me, especially right now (well, maybe you will). But I spend way too much time focusing on doing for others and getting work done, and forget that I am a person and a human being. So, I'm going to work a bit on that.

Maybe we should try to do that together?

I'm thinking over how to do it. I realized Saturday the only things I really make time for are things where I'm helping someone or otherwise can feel "justified" in taking time from my own workload.

That said, it's just gotten more complicated. My new boss's likely departure leaves my new job in a lot of question and I need to work harder still to get my own contracting site and such up.

So, in theory I'm all over it. In practice, I don't know how to proceed.
