My laptop has heat problems, too - I don't think it's just yours. It also shuts down if I leave it alone for 30 minutes, and though I've fiddled with the power saver settings, I can't get it to stop doing that. Help.

You have to go to control panel and double-click on the icon with the battery and the plug. On 'Standby,' 'Hibernate,' and 'Turn off Hard Disks,' select never, and it should stop shutting down every 30 minutes. This is the base Windows configuration utility, and I think it bypasses the one that the manufacturer provides.
