"Dome" fire adventures
we've been scrambling around because of the nearby wildfire near west Boulder. The news says that the fire danger in these parts isn't going down any as we get into winter, so a fire evacuation drill was probably a good thing. Palm Pre Root Breaking log

2012 Countdown
I decided to make an animation to display what happens in the sky "when mercury goes retrograde". Because Mercury is so close to the sun, very few of us ever actually see it, even though it's right there every day in front of, behind, or on either side of, the sun. It seemed like a good idea - I'd read some of his posts elsewhere, and I didn't find his ideas entirely distasteful. Satellites
I seem to have, in a moment of unguardedness, named one of our satellite cats. "Fluffy" is a long-haired black cat that has been getting closer and closer to our house. Yesterday I saw "Fluffy" on the steps just outside our back porch as Therion was coming in. Fluffy turned around and ran back to the hedgerow. They didn't seem to be fighting, T's ( Read more... ) -
