* I got my official acceptance to VCU as a grad student for Sociology. I just kept getting this feeling that we weren't supposed to go to Baton Rouge. The DAY BEFORE I was accepted to VCU, LSU made an announcement that due to budget cuts they were cutting funding for the Civil War Center (Matthew) and the Population Studies Center (me). I got out of work early today! For some unknown reason, the power in the court complex went out at 1:05pm today. Our whole building was down, the jail was down, the shopping center across the street was down, but the traffic light a block down worked. Anyway, deputies were placed in each hallway, as we had no electricity for security cameras. ( Read more... ) -
