That's why I use me cell phone for an alarm clock. The neighborhood that I lived in Chesapeake-you'd just have to look at a power line the wrong way and the electricity goes out. It's gotten better though, according to my folks, but I still don't chance it. And my uncle has told me that Petersburg is notorious for length outages-why he got a generator and why I'll stay with him if the lights go out. Although I think my building is on the same grid as the fire station, so mine may not be out too long... At any rate,you never know how much you take something for granted until it goes out. I hope you've got it back!
I can vouch for power in Petersburg going out a lot. When I worked at the courthouse, I can remember it going out at LEAST 5 times in the two year span I was there. The judge was too stubborn, and insisted that we just use flashlights...NOTHING would get her to step off the bench!
