my god, that is really wrong.. I remember when I was a first year apprentice, (though this was ten years ago) I was earning $220 a week and the cut off was $215

Ok, ammendment: I guess I'm pretty sure this is not a government conspiracy to make it harder for students who do not come from rich families to do PhDs. It DOES, however, often feel like it. And in the end, neglecting to think about us amounts to the same outcome as plotting against us would.

i remeber when I was earning $10 too much a fortnight to be eligible for a low income health care card... I was also spending $100+ a month on arthritis medication.... certainly tempted to ask for a pay cut...
