I have been thinking about you a lot ever since I saw the events unfolding via Facebook. :( I'm glad you decided to write about it here, and that you are finding some positive things to take from this awful experience. :( I obviously didn't know Jean, but I knew of her from reading your LJ over the years and always enjoyed reading about her through you. I'm sure she would have been so proud of you for getting up and speaking in front of all of her friends and family, and would have been so honored that you would throw her such an awesome party in Boston.

Anyway, I'm so sorry about this and am here to read/listen if you continue writing here! I am glad to see you post again!

I had been watching quietly from Facebook, but I didn't want to press you on asking what happened. This is such a tragic and sad thing. My heart goes out to you and every person that Jean touched... and it sure sounds like many!

Andrew lost one of his closest friends, Ben, just about 2 weeks after Jean's passing, and it really hit us hard, both in knowing someone so young can leave this world and also thinking about our mortality and those around us. We had just seen Ben 2 weeks before when we were in Seattle, and he was fine. It was shocking, to say the least.

Ironically, we passed through Eureka just days before you on our trip. I am glad you were able to make some positive memories from the experience.
