OMG! That is just pathetic beyond words! I mean that's like not knowing who your president is!

I had this same kind of experience with someone 4 years younger than me just last weekend who didn't know who Trooper was! I mean COME ONE they are Canadian!

PROLES!

Some things just become part of the culture, you know? To be fair, I dunno if I'd recognize Dylan at a bus stop (see quote below from Daily Telegraph about an instance in 1991) if I wasn't expecting to see him there. (Well, I suppose in 1991, he looked more LIKE Dylan ...) But if I'd asked for his name, I hope even if it was someone popular to an early generation, I'd have a clue. "All right then sir, you say your name is Frank Sinatra?"

"Rather than use a chauffeur-driven car after a concert in belfast in 1991, he was spotted waiting at a bus stop by a television crew." --Daily Telegraph UK article

Here's a prezzie for you while you lay about on your couch. You ARE laying about on your couch, aren't you, hmmm?

HAHAHAHA! No, I was in the studio gesso-ing a bra for prep at 6:30 a.m. for a breast cancer fundraiser piece I am doing. (see blog.)

And now I am playing "go with my son to buy his first used car ever and never sleep again mum" for god only knows how long today. I shall nap as soon as I get home. I don't know why this week has been so hectic when I keep saying I NEED TO REST!!!

It's just not working out despite my best efforts. He needs me to go with because he has to have someone with a licence in the car with him to drive it home, so I am it. DH is driving us there and has to get our car home.

At least it's just dh and I for dinner, so no cooking tonight.

Holy shit. What's weird is I've been totally into Dylan the last couple days. Saw the movie I'm Not There on HBO and dug out a couple Dylan CDs and downloaded them to my ipod. I wondered if he was amused not to be recognized, finally.

I saw the same story in the Daily Telegraph UK but with this addendum:

"Rather than use a chauffeur-driven car after a concert in belfast in 1991, he was spotted waiting at a bus stop by a television crew."

Perhaps he goes wandering without recognition or being picked up by police more than we know. I love it.

Check out youtube. Lots of videos there. Search for ones with Dylan and someone else, like really old ones with Joan Baez. Or this one: (Sorry, I *love* Pancho & Lefty.)

Thanks so much for the tasty treat this Saturday morning! Dylan is just so "ordinary" for such an extraordinary man! Gotta love it!

I couldn't go to the show but I had been aware of it all day.

sigh.

little whipersnappers.

I could just see him wandering around passing the time.
II could have given him something to pass the time with!

I thought it was probably in your vicinity and wondered how you let that happen.
