Memetic Infection (part 2)

Have you ever had those moments when you just feel that you do not belong in this world? ...That this world is just too fucked-up to be real? Everyone knows that there is something wrong with this world, with us humans, but how many people realize that the entire Earth was once a nearly Edennic paradise to our species? Eden was real, in a manner ( Read more... )

I completely agree with you. It's heartbreaking to see mankind destroying everything they come in contact with. Why do they feel the need to change everything and control everything? I dont understand that at all.

I think it is inevitable that a creature with a mind advanced enough for abstract thought and imagination will seek to manifest the contents of its inner world in the real world. This can be a tool for great beauty, but when negative emotions and thoughts dominate the psyche the results are ugly. I believe that fear is the single greatest explanation for the ugliness that humans have wrought upon the world, and for their need to conquer the world. The opposite of fear is love.

I guess it would be more helpful for people to identify me if I used a picture of myself rather than one of my favorite Vallejo paintings. I am Damion, friend of Xaina and your boyfriend Jeremiah.

Your view on culture and society is the original intent of Rock and Roll. No, I'm not one of "those persons". I don't do the silly fist-horn thing, nor do I say "rock on". I do believe in "Rock n Roll" though. It sure would take a lot of dedicated fans of the mushroom's wisdom to overthrow it all.

Yes, musical subculture definitely has an element of intuitive rejection of the imperial metaculture. Sadly, I do not believe that the imperial culture can be overthrown. I think that the memetic infection will just have to be allowed to run its course. The shock of near planetary destruction will likely have to be the event that forces humanity to globally reassess its beliefs and its place in this world. If humanity fails to awaken then the memetic infection will prove fatal for our species. Regardless, the increasing strain on diminishing planetary resources caused by an unregulated population explosion will bring about massive global carnage. What the subcultures need to do is ensure that their wisdom survives this apocalypse.

Control and change everything, because we already believe we own it, Its a typical mankind thing to think we own everything, yet still keep seperate from it
i believe that is part of the problem
divinity is a part of everything, not seperate from it, thus we are connected to everything. a lesson many have not learned

"divinity is a part of everything, not seperate from it, thus we are connected to everything."
.
I agree completely. That is knowledge that everyone seeks, yet our modern culture opposes it. The interconnection of all things is a vital lesson for our species.
