It's quite humbling when you read things like that, isn't it? Almost makes me turn my head a little, because I know (in all things) I don't do as much or as well or as right as I should.
I noticed the moon last night too. We also noticed it at work, the natives restless with several fights.
Tonight I again stood on the deck and watched the moon as it rose. A beautiful red moon. It was pretty as it peeked it's way up thru the branches on the pines. A very peaceful reflection on my part as I stood quietly watching.
Your posting on the words of Thomas AKempis were very striking, really makes you stop and think in many ways. I especially liked the last paragraph. It gave me peace of mind of what may be my purpose here on this earth and what I may be trying to accomplish where I work (food for thought):
"You have come to serve, not to rule. You must understand, too, that you have been called to suffer and to work, not to idle and gossip away your time. Here men are tried as gold in a furnace. Here no man can remain unless he desires with all his heart to humble himself before God"
