As promised the trip and concert recap
The trip there was actually fairly uneventful. I slept a lot more then I thought I would so that was good.
Saturday
Highlights: Finally meeting carrie_ling and her lovely family (and getting off that damn bus!)LM was so cute! She was waiting at the door for me. Hehehehehe. Having a drink in my hand within 10 minutes of walking in the door (my kind of people..) and getting to sleep in a super comfortable bed (LM was nice enough to give up her room for the week)
Amusing moments: When we arrived in Toronto I noticed that almost everyone outside had on winter jackets and toques etc... I figured they were having some sort of cold snap. Nope, they're just whimps! :P It was like +2 with no wind. That's nice people! Break out the spring jackets!!
Movies watched: Jackass:The Movie. *squeal* Ryan protecting Bam in the beginning!!! Ryan shoving a car up his ass and Bam flying in special for the whole thing (he probably helped him "prepare" the night before *cough*) Also, Johnny Knoxville is an attractive man...*nods*
Sunday
Highlights: Going shopping in Buffalo. I managed to resist buying more t-shirts at the Old Navy outlet (see Lisa...I have willpower :P) but I did cave and buy a pink purse at Target. We really need Target in Canada!
Amusing moments: On the way back home we were nearly side swiped by a Truck. Where was the truck from? Manitoba! Just after I had finished telling carrie about all the bad drivers we have here. Just proving my point...

Movies watched: Haggard! My new favourite movie and word. That is the most random movie. It's like ADD on screen. They've got a plot but they get bored and show some clouds, then Bam skateboards by and then Bran is his usual weird self. It's great. Also watched Wildboyz. Stupid Steve-O and Chris...god I love them.
Monday
Highlights: Went to Best Buy to purchase my own gay porn copies of Jackass and Haggard (also picked up two CKY DVDs). When I went to pay this thing came up on the screen telling the guy to ask for ID to purchase Jackass. That's right, I got carded at Best Buy *sigh* How embarrassing!
Amusing moments: Upon finding out her father would not be joining us at the Asshat concert LM posed this sparkling question "How could any man not like Ryan Malcolm" HA! I'm going to make a book of quotes from that kid I swear.
Number of Dollar stores visited: 3
Movies watched: season 2 & 3 of Jackass (which I also feel the need to track down now too) I can't believe how dumb these guys and how much I adore it.
Tuesday
Highlights: Tourist day! Saw Niagara Falls with my own person tour guide :) Very cool. My favourite part? The Buddhist Monastery in the middle of the redlight district *ha* Also, Alfie in a box. Yup. Niagara Falls is all about the randomness. I can appreciate that. It was cold and snowy though that day so it kind of sucked.
Amusing moments: The controversial McDonalds! I hope carrie isn't tarred and feathered from town for eating there!

Movies watched: Velvet Goldmine. How the hell have I not seen this before??? It's slash on screen. It's great. Christian...Ewan...*sigh* Also saw more Jackass and the Cribs thing with the Jackass guys. "It's a piece of shit but you're more then welcome to come in" I love Dunn like a lot.

Highlights: ASSHAT DAY!
Concert recap:
Where to begin?
We found messynessy amidst the scaries (she was one in the pink and black striped ensemble with matching knee highs...HA!) and then proceeded to wait forfreakingever to get into the theatre. My personal theory? Ryan and Billy were having sex on the stage. Yup, it’s one of the things he has to do before the show *nods* Demanding Diva!
Within moments of sitting down I discovered the girls next to me were Moffats fans. Off to a good start!
Jacynthe- WTF? She’s Quebec’s answer to Brittany Spears....only a LOT skankier. Really, all she needed was a pole and she was all set. She kept saying “Come on Hamilton” I wanted to flog her with a large stick. The Moffat girls next to me got her autograph. They should be flogged too! LM didn’t even like her. HA!
Ryan Malcolm-
After another looooonnnnnnggggg wait (jesus boys...contain yourselves). Mr. UnorthAdox himself finally appeared in all his skinny ass, flailing glory. I have to say, I was entertained. The concert exceeded my expectations. It was well worth the trip. The band was too loud on the first two songs (SATP and SUTM) I called my sister during SUTM (it’s her favourite!) so she could hear it but with the music being so loud it didn’t really work all that well. It was a little girl’s birthday and he dedicated a song to her, then brought up on the stage and got everyone to say Happy Birthday to her. After she walked off he’s like, “That’s the first girl I’ve ever had (pause) on stage....” Suuurreee Asshat. He did Oasis for fan’s choice (foiled again...I wanted Should I Stay or Should I Go). I was impressed with The Sounds of Silence (he and Reagan sounded really good together...although they look nothing alike...nothing....Ryan is so the Ethiopian sponsored child of the family). When Ryan announced he was going to do a U2 song next the Moffat girls next to me asked, “Who’s U2?” FLOG, FLOG, FLOG! There were scary fan girls a couple of rows in front of me with headbands that said I Love Ryan and clothing that was far too tight. They kept jumping up and down, screaming. I was embarrassed for them *shakes head* (I got their picture though to mock them forever...hehehehehe)
Observations:
-Ryan makes fun of himself just as much as we do!
-He’s REAAAALLLLYYY skinny. I’m surprised Billy hasn’t snapped him in two.
-Jump, Ryan, Jump! I swear that kid is part spring.
-He’s quite flexible. Billy’s a lucky man.
-Ryan spent most of the concert flirting with his male guitar player and the cute gay boy sitting behind carrie and nessy (who was going to see Clay the following night in Detroit)
-He seems like the kind of guy I could be friends with. Snarky gay men and I get along swimmingly.
Autograph session:
I skipped out early to get us a decent place in a longass line. Thus missing the train wreck that is Good Girls (and Play that Funky Music White boy) *cries* It was worth it though for what follows.
Vanessa goes first:
“Hi (hands Ryan a picture of himself playing guitar) Can you write GUITAR in big letters with lots of exclamation points?”
“Um, sure. How’s three?”
“Just fine.”
SNORT
I’m standing there trying not to laugh and then it’s my turn.
“Hi.”
“Hi.” (hands him cd cover) Can you sign this Mr. Unorthodox ?”
He looks at me...
“Ok...(starts writing) how do you even spell that?”
“Just do your best.”
He writes Mr. UnorthAdox. I nearly wet myself trying not to laugh.
“Thanks” Smirk
“No problem” He started laughing at me.
Oh, Asshat....if you only knew!
I then walk three feet away from the table to where Vanessa was standing and we proceed to jump up and down, mocking and laughing hysterically at him. Like he couldn’t see/hear us or something! carrie was still there with LM and apparently he looked quite confused/frightened. As you should Asshat...as you should.
So we squealed like 14 year olds all the way back to carrie’s house. Vanessa spent the night which was much fun.
Amusing moments: The whole day! I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard in a long time.
Number of Dollar stores visited: 1 and we FINALLY found the damn dolls! I shall never again be able to go into a Dollar store without thinking of carrie!
Movies watched: Actually...none...shocking I know...
Thursday
Highlights: A nice relaxing day. Just hung out laughing and talking with carrie and Vanessa. Twas quite amusing. Went to lunch at the Flying Saucer. A place that must be experienced! LOL
Amusing moments: Again...the whole day. I’m surprised I didn’t rupture something hanging out with those two. Favourite quote? Vanessa: Where’s your thing that makes the bread hot and hard?” ROTFLMFAO She’s a dork and I <3 her so.
Movies watched: Way too much Idol stuff. I finally got to see all the Asshat E-Talk stuff I had missed though.
Friday
Time to go home :(
I gave LM her birthday gift (like she needed another one *lol*) and I was off.
It was sad saying goodbye to everyone. I had such a wonderful time. It sucks not living closer to them!
The trip was fairly uneventful. Aside from the bus breaking down and a minor snow storm. I arrived home Saturday, probably the happiest I’d been to see Winnipeg in a long time!
So yes, a wonderful time was had. Hopefully, I'll be able to go back and visit another time :) Maybe in the summer when the Floral Clock will be in full glory *lol*
I really loved Ontario. I think I would enjoy living there (I might be looking up jobs there as we speak...hehehehehe). I'm getting sick of Manitoba's winters!
I've purchased way too much Jackass/CKY stuff in the last week. It can't be healthy.
Now I'm going to go back to writing.
I have to go back to work tomorrow *pout* I've been away from like a week and a half. It's been nice. I haven't missed that place at all. Yup....time for something new.
