Last week, our 14 year old sensitive and gentle son came into my car crying because a teacher pinched and humiliated him in front of an entire school of over 200 kids and staff . And his crime? For not standing up for ashrei at mincha quickly enough.

Woah. Where is that, pre-war Poland shtetl?

You can find sources for everything. The mother should make it all public, the hitting and the yelling. I'm sure many kids don't tell because they are afraid, or because of lashon hara.

I know there are still schools like that but they should warn about their "shitta". People have the right to not want it. If it's not the school's shitta but one loony, he needs to be denounced in public and kicked out.

Didn't our chazal say "gam zu letovah" ? Maybe he would have become a robber or thief and this holy melamed just prevented him from becoming a criminal ? :)

A 14 year old definitely needs a firm pinching hand, but I'll be the one doing the pinching, thank you very much.

> Do we need to start filing assault charges?

The parents should, but you know what would happen. There would be articles in all the frum newspapers decrying the persecution of this holy, pious mechanech by the evil government and the degradation of society that allows teachers to be punished for teaching ; ads asking for money to help with his defense; and general vilification of the mosser brining the suit.

I'd wait in the shadows near his home when he was coming home from davening/learning. Then I'd break his arm with a baseball bat.

My God, that is so horrible.

Culty behavior all around.

I'll stay in my little MO haven.
