So to continue on with a broad theme over the past week or three, who has had experience working at disasters (natural and otherwise)? What sticks in your mind about them? What would you do differently next time? The same?
I've worked at bush-fires here, in the past.
And is anyone likely to be doing relief work in tsunami-affected South Asia? I've registered as a volunteer with the government, and may get a call pretty much any time in the next 12 months or so. If I disappear for a while it will be because of that. Meeting up with people there could be both odd, and great.
The Monday Discussion Topic is a project by your
onlineambulance moderators. Every week one of us posts a topic for all of us here to discuss. Sometimes an article or link will accompany the topic. The topics are generally subjects that all of us in EMS -- no matter what system, certification level, or location -- can relate to and comment on. The idea is to share tips, tricks, and experiences related to the topic, and to increase everyone's knowledge. If you've got an idea for a topic, or a comment on the project, please contact
zercool,
mustela or
usuakari by email or IM.
